Nestled in the heart of Basco, Batanes, Phil's Brew is not just a café; it’s a charming oasis that invites you to savor the finer moments of life. This delightful coffee shop, reminiscent of a warm familial gathering, is owned by the amiable Ms. Aimee, whose passion for coffee and community shines through every cup served.

Open from 4 PM to 9 PM, Phil's Brew is your cozy retreat after a day of exploration. The ambiance is heartwarming and homey, designed to feel like you’re stepping into a beloved auntie’s garden area, where laughter mingles with the soft notes of music in the background. The rustic decor and makeshift seating tell a story of love and simplicity, enhancing your experience as you enjoy your favorite brew under a sky full of stars and the gentle serenade of chirping birds.

The menu is a celebration of comfort and flavor. Their cappuccino and latte stand out as the best on the island, crafted to perfection and praised by locals and visitors alike. For those who prefer a hint of sweetness in their coffee experience, the signature Tres Leches cake is a must-try. This delectable dessert, soaked in a rich blend of milk, offers a melt-in-your-mouth sensation that perfectly complements the warm, inviting aromas of freshly brewed coffee. Don’t forget to also explore their selection of Twinings teas—ideal for tea lovers seeking a comforting sip after a long day of adventures.

Guests can't help but rave about their experiences. Irene Lee beautifully captures the essence of Phil's Brew, noting the delightful ambiance and impeccable service provided by Aimee, who is always ready to accommodate her customers with a smile. John Jones echoes this sentiment, reminiscing about the warm conversations shared over coffee, even after closing hours. Marzy Lorie adds that the unpretentious vibe makes it an excellent choice for visitors who appreciate authenticity without the bells and whistles.

For a unique cultural touch, take a moment to ask Ms. Aimee about Tubho tea, a local specialty. Krizzle Diaz shares a heartwarming story of celebrating a birthday at Phil's Brew, where Aimee went above and beyond to make the occasion special with a candle and a festive sign for photos. These stories are testaments to the homey, communal spirit Phil's Brew embodies.

If you find yourself in Basco, a trip to Phil's Brew is not merely a stop for coffee; it’s an experience filled with warmth, flavor, and stories that linger long after the last sip. Come for the coffee, stay for the heart, and leave with memories of a truly special place.

Open 4pm till 9pm. Best cappuccino and latte in the island. Tea lovers will like Twinnings being available here. Their Tres Leches smells and tastes really good. I think the soaking in milk process is the key. Aimee, lady in the counter, is sweet and amiable. Lastly, having desserts and coffee under the stars with chirping birds is a plus.

Homey coffee shop and why not? This coffee shop is in fact the owner's house with make shift chairs. We love the place, no fancy frills just pure coffee- iced this time with local Ivatan version of suman, Tres Leches, all made and served with love by the friendly owner! We always go here for coffee the entire time were at Basco!

Finally found a real coffee that hits the spot! We are welcomed by Ms Aimee lovely owner of Phil's Brew. The place is pleasantly bright and homey. It's like your Tita's (Aunty) little garden area where you can relax and enjoy your merienda while listening to soft music. We ordered Americano and Iced Coffee. I asked Ms Aimee regarding their coffee blend as I noticed that its not acidic, I was advised that they are using a special blend. Our coffee was perfectly paired with Tres Leches cake (my brother almost finished this in a minute and wanted another for himself!) and Biko with Macapuno (so satisfying, I can probably eat one bilao as its not too sweet). Both are delicious, we come from Bulacan.. home of kakanin and malagkit. So believe me when I say they serve really good Biko. Please ask and check their available cakes as its not on the menu. It would be ashamed to miss it. Price is affordable too base on coffee and service quality. We'll definitely come back to try their tablea (chocolate) cake and lemon cake. Thank you for giving us complimentary Biko and your hospitality.(She said that she kept us waiting, but we didn't wait that long really) Cheers!

Ate is very nice and accommodating. We celebrated a birthday there and she even gave us a candle and a birthday sign for photos. I recommend you try her signature tres leches cake. We came back another day looking for Tubho tea (local tea) and she even gave us a background regarding the drink and harvesting tea leaves.

Tres Leches is best with their Hot Tsoko or Brewed Coffee. Their home made crop cake is best paired with tea.
